Cowboy Simple
What's the plural for banjo? Banjos? Banjoes? Or is it Banji? That’s one burning question you didn’t know you needed to ask. And country-funk-disco band Cowboy Simple are ready to help. Technically, grammatically speaking you simply add an ‘s’ to the word banjo. Some folks add an ‘es’ as in banjoes, But the most standard form is banjos. Case closed. However Cowboy Simple reckon you should do it a little different. And in their new song River Don’t Lie Cowboy Simple are staking their claim for banji. There’s something liberating in that isn’t there? And when it comes down to it that’s what this whole song is about – freedom. Freedom with a capital F. “F you I wanna be free”, freedom. The feeling that you get when you need to move on. When you’ve had enough and you just need to be any place but where you are. And its about the truth you find in the simplest things when the world feels very post-truth here’s a song about something positive and elemental – water that flows and is never the same but in another way is always the same. That’s the spirit of country music or country music Cowboy Simple style.
